Franchisee Testimonies through Covid19 in 2020

I asked 2 of my Franchisee’s, Adam is from Brisbane and Allan is from Newcastle, how their business has faired the last 6 months, and this is what they had to say.


Hi Karin,

I just wanted to give you an overall indication of my performance so far during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Initially as most business owners were I was worried about the impact that this was going to have on my business. In fact my business has continued to grow significantly during this period.

Most days I was actually having to turn away work, particularly urgent tyre replacement and puncture repairs.

Below is an example of my 2020 sales during this period compared to the previous time last year.

  • March 2019 – March 2020   50% Increase in sales
  • April 2019 – April 2020   25% Increase in sales
  • May 2019 – May 2020    77% Increase in sales
  • June 2019 – June 2020   62% Increase in sales
  • July 2019 – July 2020   52% Increase in sales

Hi Karin,

When the pandemic first and only being a Wheel Change U franchisee for about 10 months was very worried with how this could impact me.

Now it has been around 5 months my business is as busy as ever and has been the entire time. I was unable to claim job keeper as my sales were well above the previous year, I believe this is a very positive outcome and proves that as a mobile service and with the procedures we put in place, COVID 19 has not affected us at all, at this stage. If anything it has given us more exposure as people are looking for other alternative ways to go about their life. for example, people that are working from home are on their computers searching for mobile services as they are working at home.

All of this couldn’t have happened without the support from everyone that is a part of our wonderful team. The constant phone calls and zoom meetings with everyone, talking and working out ways to help each other has been the best support one could ask for.

So to sum it, COVID 19 has not yet affected my business, if anything it has given me more exposure and increased my workload. I’m very excited about what the future holds for myself and Wheel Change U.
